Before you turn on CMDB on Data Cloud, confirm that your org meets these requirements:

- Agentforce IT Service is turned on. For more information, see [Set Up Agentforce IT Service with Salesforce Go](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_sf_go.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Deploy features and configure your Agentforce IT Service org faster with a consolidated initial setup solution and automated configuration. Use Salesforce Go features, feature sets, and the Agentforce IT Service Solution to provision IT services in a few clicks, or pick only the capabilities your company needs through a guided installation.").
- The `ITSMOrgPermission` org permission is enabled.
- CMDB is turned on. For more information, see [Set Up CMDB Using Salesforce Go](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_cmdb_salesforcego.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Swiftly set up your CMDB in just a few steps by using Salesforce Go. Use the guided setup experience to turn on the CMDB feature, discovery options, and configure data population rules. Reduce manual setup and unlock core CMDB functionalities with single activation flows.").
- Data 360 is turned on and set up for Agentforce IT Service. For more information, see [Set Up Data 360 for Agentforce IT Service](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_data_cloud_setup.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Set up Data 360 for your IT Service business and configure settings that help users work with the IT Service Data Kit.").
- The CMDB license is provisioned in the same org as Data 360.

In Salesforce Go, the **Turn On CMDB on Data Cloud** option is available only after CMDB is turned on and the `ITSMOrgPermission` org permission is enabled. The **Turn On Data Sync on Data Cloud** option becomes available after you turn on CMDB on Data Cloud.

The CMDB Data Kit creates the data streams, Data Lake Objects (DLOs), Data Model Objects (DMOs), and mappings for CMDB data. When you turn on data sync, CMDB copies the records that already exist in your org to Data 360, including the records created before you turned on Data Cloud. New and updated records then continue to sync.

1. From Setup, click **Salesforce Go**.
2. Search for and select **Configuration Management Database (CMDB)**.
3. Click **Get Started**.
4. Confirm that **Turn On Configuration Management Database (CMDB)** is on.
5. Under **Unlock Advanced Functionality**, select **Turn On CMDB on Data Cloud**.

This option deploys the CMDB Data Kit and creates the data streams, DLOs, and DMOs. The deployment runs in the background and you can leave the page while the deployment runs. Salesforce sends you an email when the deployment starts and another email when the deployment is completed. For more information, see [Configuration Management Database and Service Graph Data Kit](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_data_cloud_cmdb_data_kit.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Sync Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data into Data Cloud. Use the data kit to map core CMDB entities to Data Model Objects (DMOs) for deeper analysis and reporting. Gain visibility into your IT asset landscape and dependencies so your team can assess service impact, investigate incidents, and plan changes.").
6. Select **Turn On Data Sync on Data Cloud**.

This option is available after **Turn On CMDB on Data Cloud** is on. CMDB copies the records that already exist in your org to Data 360, including the records created before you turned on Data Cloud. You don't run a separate job. The sync runs in the background and can take some time to complete, depending on the volume of your CMDB data. New and updated records continue to sync while this option is on.
7. If you turn data sync off and then on again, review the cost message and confirm the action.

When you turn data sync on again, CMDB copies all records to Data 360 again. The extra sync uses more of your Data 360 capacity.
8. In the Data 360 app, open the **Data Streams** tab and confirm that the CMDB data streams are present.

9. Open the **Data Model** tab and confirm that the CMDB DMOs are present.
10. To confirm that the sync is completed, open a CMDB DMO and compare its record count with the record count in CMDB.

If the record counts don't match, the sync is still in progress. Check again later. If records are still missing, contact Salesforce Customer Support.
11. To confirm that record changes sync, create a CI type in CMDB, and then open the Configuration Item Definition DMO in Data 360.

For more information about creating CI types, see [Create a Configuration Item Type](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_cmdb_create_citype.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Define a new configuration item (CI) type to represent a specific asset category in Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Each CI type includes required attributes, relationships, and rules that apply to the assets it manages.").

The new CI type appears in the DMO. If the record is missing, check again later.

Data 360 contains a copy of the supported CMDB records. CMDB remains the source of truth, and record changes continue to sync when data sync is on.
