Smart Policy Authoring uses generative AI to analyze existing regulatory frameworks and suggest internal policy language. After AI drafts the clauses, you can review, edit, and associate them with your policy records.

Note Always review AI-generated content for accuracy and compliance with your company's specific legal requirements.

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **IT Compliance**.
2. Open **Compliance Policies** from the navigation menu.
3. Open the policy record for which you want to draft clauses.
4. Click **Smart Policy Authoring**.
5. Select **Create Policy Clauses with Generative AI**, and click **Next**.
6. Select a regulation and choose the specific regulatory clauses to use as a source for your policy.
7. Click **Save**.

Generative AI starts drafting the clauses. The drafting process can take a few minutes. You can close the window and continue working. You receive a notification when the draft clauses are ready.
8. Click **Review Policy Clause** on the notification to view the generated clauses.
9. Review the draft clauses and, if necessary, click **Edit** from the actions menu to refine the text.
10. Select the clauses you want to keep and click **Attach**.
11. Select the compliance policy version to link the clauses to, and save your changes.
