# Manage Configuration Item Components

Add or remove supported component records from a configuration item (CI) to maintain accurate infrastructure and software associations.

### Required Editions

Important You can create or delete only certain component types from the **Components** tab of a CI record. Supported component types include network adapter, software instance, installed software, network storage disk, and peripheral device.

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **CMDB and Service Graph**.
2. In the navigation panel, select **Configuration Items**, and then select **All Configuration Items**.
3. Click the required CI record and then select the **Components** tab.
4. Select the required component type.
5. To add a component, click **New Component**.
6. Enter the required component details.
7. Save your changes.
8. To delete a component, click **Delete Component**.
