# Create a Configuration Item Attribute Set

Use attribute sets to organize metadata into logical sections for faster navigation and improved readability. Logical sections include system details, installed software, license information, and other related groups. Attribute sets group related configuration item (CI) attributes together so they appear as collapsible sections on the CI record.

Organizing attributes into clear sections helps users locate and understand critical details during asset investigation. For example, create an attribute set called hardware and network to hold fields like CPU count, server state, and network adapter.

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **CMDB and Service Graph**.
2. In the navigation panel, select **Administration**, and then select **CMDB**.
3. Click **CI Attributes Manager**.
4. Click **New CI Attribute Set**.
5. In the **Name** field, enter the name of the attribute set.

The name appears as the section header on CI records. For example, instance details, software details, or device details.
6. Save the changes.

The attribute set is added to the CI Attributes Manager list.
