# Sourcing Modes and Performance Tracking

When you manage hardware fulfillment, you can configure sourcing settings to evaluate nearby stock levels automatically or receive proactive recommendations. The Sourcing Agent creates fulfillment orders and product transfers in the background, eliminating manual review.

### Required Editions

## Select a Sourcing Mode

- **Autonomous Sourcing**: Select this mode when inventory levels are reliable, transit routes are standardized, and you want a zero-touch fulfillment cycle for routine requests.
- **Recommendations-Only (Proactive Mode)**: Select this mode if stock distribution fluctuates unpredictably or if local warehouse teams manually sign off on destination constraints before inventory moves.

## Monitor Performance and Transparency

**Reasoning Logs**

To view why an autonomous location selection is made, go to the Work Notes or the centralized **Sourcing Agent Audit Logs** on the Service Request record. The logs show step-by-step details about the geographical boundaries and stock logic used by the reasoning engine.

**Success Metrics Dashboard**

Track systemic performance by opening the IT Asset Management (ITAM) Success Metrics Dashboard. Key performance indicators (KPIs) include:

- **Sourcing Completion Times**: The median duration from request approval to automated fulfillment order generation.
- **Recommendation Acceptance Rates**: The percentage of proactive recommendations successfully ran by fulfillers without manual overrides.
