# Fulfill Hardware Requests

Sourcing items from stockrooms and deploying them to employees tracks fulfillments cleanly. This process uses fulfillment orders to group multiple products from the same location. Combining shipments reduces delivery fees and streamlines inventory auditing.

Before you begin, verify that the service request is approved.

**How Fulfillment Orders Work**

A fulfillment order manages delivery details for a destination site. Fulfillment order line items track specific components inside that order. Soft reservations protect stock levels instantly, preventing double-booking while your team handles physical routing.

Source Hardware and Initiate Reservations. Identify the best stockroom to fulfill the employee's request and select a reservation method.

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **IT Hardware Asset Management**.
2. Select **Service Requests**.
3. Select an approved service request.
4. Select **Source Product** to open sourcing flow.
5. Select location with the requested asset available.
6. Select reservation type for the requested products:
    - **Reserve Any Asset**: Create a soft reservation to decrease available inventory counts without assigning a specific serialized asset.
    - **Reserve Specific Asset**: Create a hard allocation to select an exact device by serial number or asset tag.
7. Click **Next**.
8. Select **Reserve Asset**.

The system generates fulfillment orders and fulfillment order line items automatically for your location. Sourcing from multiple stockrooms splits requests into separate fulfillment orders.

Fulfill Orders and Select Assets. Fulfill the order at the designated stockroom.

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **IT Hardware Asset Management**.
2. Select **Fulfillment Orders**.
3. Select the pending fulfillment order assigned to your location.
4. On the Related tab, select **View All** to identify products to pull.
5. Check fulfillment order line items for logistics tracking:
    1. If product transfer is linked, wait for the internal shipment to arrive.
    2. If a product request line item is linked, wait for external procurement to complete.
6. Retrieve the device physically and select **Add Asset** on fulfillment order line item.
7. Select device by serial number or asset tag.
8. Select **Save**.

Saving changes converts your soft reservation into a hard allocation. This updates asset status to **Reserved** and logs events in your **Asset Timeline**.
