1. Open **Shifts** in the App Launcher.
2. Select a listview other than Recently Viewed.
3. Set the Display As icon to **Schedule**.
4. Hover over the shift you’d like to assign, and select **Get Candidates**.

The list of service resource candidates is generated based on your scheduling rules defined in Setup. For example, the list can include service resources matching the skills required for the shift, based on the associated job profile. The list is sorted so the service resources most closely matching your scheduling service objectives appear at the top. You can define these objectives in Setup, for example, service resource preferences or balancing nonstandard shift assignments.
5. Select the service resource to assign, then save your changes.

The selected service resource is associated with the shift via the service resource lookup field. Make sure the shift status is Confirmed so that the scheduling and optimization engine considers the shift time period when interpreting the service resource’s availability for assigning service appointments.
