A template is supported for either standard or enhanced bot types. When you create a template from an existing bot, the template can be used to create a bot of the same type only. To learn more about enhanced bots, visit Set Up Enhanced Bots.
Before a bot can become a template, you must remove unsupported elements from the bot version. These elements include:
- Transfer actions: A bot can’t contain the Transfer to Agent Rule action. The Transfer to Agent system dialog is allowed.
- Einstein Intent Sets: A bot can’t contain a dialog intent that is linked to an Einstein Intent Set.
- Enhanced messaging components: A bot can’t contain inbound or outbound file attachments or messaging components, such as enhanced links.
- From the Einstein Bots main page, go to the bot you want to use to create a template.
- Click to expand the bot versions, and then select the dropdown next to the version of the bot you want to use to create a template.
- Click Create Template from Bot.
- Give your template a name, and set a primary language and any secondary languages.
- Optionally, you can add a permission set to your template so any bots created from your template have access to required resources, such as objects and flows.
-
Save your changes.
The Bot Builder opens with your new template.
