Bot templates are supported for standard bots. You can’t create a template from a bot with transfer action dialog steps or Einstein Intent Sets. Instead, create another version of your bot without the transfer action dialog steps or Einstein Intent Sets. To include intent data in a bot template, add utterances manually to your bot. See [Import Intent Data to a Bot](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.bots_service_intent_import_bot.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Importing Intent Data is a simple way to add utterances into your bot. You can only upload intent data to dialogs with Intent Enabled, which creates an intent name to relate to the utterances.").

When creating a managed package, you can choose to create a first- or second-generation managed package. To understand the difference between these approaches, see [Comparison of First- and Second-Generation Managed Packages](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.pkg2_dev.meta/pkg2_dev/sfdx_dev_dev2gp_comparison.htm).

To create a first-generation managed package, see [Create a Package](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.pkg1_dev.meta/pkg1_dev/creating_packages.htm) in the First-Generation Managed Packaging Developer Guide. To create a second-generation managed package, see [Before You Create a Second-Generation Managed Package](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.pkg2_dev.meta/pkg2_dev/sfdx_dev_dev2gp_before.htm) in the Second-Generation Managed Packaging Developer Guide.

1. To create a package, choose a packaging type and follow the corresponding guide.
2. Add your bot template.
3. If you’re including variables, entities, Flows, or custom Apex code, add them to the package.
