# How Do Permissions for Territories Affect Feature and Data Access?

Anticipate how permissions for Sales Territories affect administration and provide access to records and data.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Salesforce Classic for some features and Lightning Experience for all features</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Performance</strong> and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions and in <strong>Enterprise</strong> and <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions with Sales</td></tr></tbody></table>

Make sure that user permissions provide the appropriate level of access for users. For example, if you want Sales Operations managers and selected Sales managers to be able to manage territories, assign the Manage Territories permission to them. Anyone who also creates account assignment rules needs the View All Records permission on Accounts.

Note Sales Territories operations that require Manage Territories also require View Setup and Configuration for accessing Setup. View Setup and Configuration isn’t required for performing those operations via API.
