Add a component to record details pages for showing the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator. For quotes, add the component to the Salesforce CPQ Quote details page. For opportunities, add the component to the Opportunity details page.
4. **[Set Up API Access for the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_api_access.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To let the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator managed package work with data in Salesforce, generate Client ID and Client Secret security credentials in Spiff. Then, enter those credentials in Salesforce.
5. **[Configure Field Sets for the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_field_sets.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The Quote, Quote Line, Opportunity, and Opportunity Product objects in Salesforce Spiff include several Salesforce fields as well as custom fields. To avoid errors later on, add all custom fields that are used in Spiff to field sets. Then, configure the field sets as source field sets for the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator.
6. **[Specify Security Settings for the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator Objects and Fields](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_security.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To set field-level and object-level security on the Quote, Quote Line, Opportunity, and Opportunity Product objects for users who make commission callouts to Salesforce Spiff, create another permission set.
7. **[Set Up a Custom Labels View for the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_labels.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create a group and custom labels view for users who can see Salesforce Spiff configuration custom labels, including error messages.
8. **[Filter Opportunities in the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator for Quotes](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_opportunity_status.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
By default, the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator returns all opportunities except Closed Won Closed Lost opportunities. Customize the estimator to filter opportunities by other status values.
9. **[Limit Admin Access to Commission Response and Commission Data Custom Fields](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_admin_fields.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Hide the custom fields of the Commission Response and Spiff Commission Data objects from admins who don’t have Salesforce Spiff Commission Admin permission set.
10. **[Configure Child Object Mappings for the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_child_object.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Update custom settings to add child object mappings.
11. **[Create a Payout Rule for the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_payout_rule.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
In some cases, you can reuse the same payout rules in Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator as you already use for regular commission payouts in Spiff. In other cases, create a separate payout rule specifically for estimations. For example, maybe you don't want to include a What-If? rule on rep commission statements or you configure the estimator for a different object than the regular commission payout rule uses.
12. **[Create a Payout Rule for the Quota Attainment Graph](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_graph_rule.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The Commission Estimator window in the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator provides a bar graph that shows how much an estimated deal affects quota attainment. In Designer, create a quota payout rule for use with the quota attainment graph. The payout rule has several requirements.
13. **[Field Requirements for the Quota Attainment Graph](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_graph_fields.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To show data in the quota attainment bar graph with the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator, set up required fields, even if the fields don't have any values.
14. **[Next Steps for Setting Up the Salesforce Spiff Commission Estimator](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_estimator_setup_next.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
