## Log In to Salesforce

Log in to a Salesforce environment that you connected to Spiff. The Spiff Commission Estimator is compatible with any Salesforce org that you connect in Spiff, including Salesforce sandboxes. See [Add a Salesforce Connector](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_connector_add.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To sync data from Salesforce with Salesforce Spiff, add a connector. You can set up connectors for up to five Salesforce orgs.").

The estimator uses the default Spiff users table and its corresponding plan assignments and payout rules for estimating commissions in connected Salesforce environments. Depending on how you set up the default Spiff users table and how many connected Salesforce environments you’re installing the estimator in, there can be some extra setup steps.

- If you install the estimator in the same Salesforce environment that you used for importing user records, there’s no extra setup.
- If you install the estimator in a different connected Salesforce environment than where you imported user records from, the estimator still tries to use the default users table and its corresponding plan assignments and payout rules. In this case, the estimator doesn’t work correctly. Manually upload a new set of users with their own plan assignments and payout rules for use with the estimator in this environment. See [Import Users in Salesforce Spiff Manually](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_users_add_manual_import.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Admins can manually import users in Salesforce Spiff by downloading, modifying, and uploading a template .csv file. You can also add other admins.").

## Install the Salesforce CPQ Managed Package (Quotes Only)

If you plan to use the Spiff Commission Estimator for quotes, first install the Salesforce CPQ managed package. If you plan to use the Spiff Commission Estimator for opportunities only, skip these steps.

1. Turn on Chatter.

    See [Enable Chatter](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.tpm_admin_task_enable_chatter.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
2. Install the Salesforce CPQ managed package.

See [Install or Upgrade Salesforce CPQ](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.cpq_install_cpq_package.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

Important Salesforce Spiff supports only Salesforce CPQ Winter ’22 patch 4 (version 234.4) or later. If you have this version of the Salesforce CPQ managed package installed already, skip these steps.
