# Create a Sandbox in Salesforce Spiff

Create a sandbox to test new features without affecting your production environment. The sandbox replicates the parent environment’s features, custom roles, underlying rules, and reporting structures, but it doesn’t include users, assignments, statements, connector secret keys or other sensitive data, or synced transactional data. You can create two sandboxes for each production environment.

Spiff clones Quota Types from the parent environment when you create a new sandbox. Spiff copies Quota Types from the parent environment with matching IDs, so formula references resolve correctly after deployment. Quota Types created directly in the sandbox don't have a matching ID in the parent and can't be deployed via change set.

1. In your parent environment, go to Admin and select **Settings**.
2. Under Environments, select **Sandboxes**.
3. Click **Add Sandbox**.
4. Select your source for the data and configuration.

You can clone logic from a production environment or an existing sandbox.
5. Follow the prompts to create your sandbox.

If your organization purchased the Spiff connector in Workato, the Workato window in Data Automation is available in your sandbox. The sandbox uses your production company's Workato account, so you can copy and reuse recipes and connections without re-creating them from scratch.
