# Salesforce Maps Routing Limits and Considerations

Keep these routing limits and considerations in mind when you build and optimize routes. Routes approaching these limits can take up to 2 minutes to optimize.

### Required Editions

- Maximum 150 waypoints with traffic (includes start and end).
- Maximum 120 waypoints for time-based routes.
- Maximum 120 events per day when using the Schedule feature.
- In Pedestrian mode, the distance between consecutive waypoints can't exceed 3.1 miles (5 km).
- Proximity circles measure straight-line distance, not driving distance. Use routing for actual drive time and mileage.
- The routing role hierarchy setting supports role hierarchies with 400 or fewer levels.
