- The optimization process doesn’t create visits during times blocked by Salesforce calendar events. The process can, however, schedule over any other types of occupied time blocks on Salesforce calendars. You can schedule over events by defining which events to exclude in Routes and Schedule Settings.
- Route optimizations include scheduled events, visits, and other meetings as anchored appointments for locations that meet the visit plan criteria. Anchored appointments count toward targets for visit planning.
- To include visits and events in routing calculations, confirm that the related records match visit plan filters and assignment criteria. And confirm that the visits match the visit plan criteria.
- If you manually change start times for optimized visits, it’s possible to lose those changes during future optimization processes.
- If your drivers require routes optimized for vehicles that can't travel on the same roads as cars, [create a drive profile](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000389632&type=1&language=en_US) that accounts for vehicle size and other characteristics. While the optimization process for visit plans and schedules doesn’t factor in drive profiles, your drivers can create routes with those profiles in Salesforce Maps.
