## Manage Approval Routing More Easily

Provide more flexibility for users who sending statements through approval routes. A new filter for team hierarchy lets users choose any team without a parent team. They can choose to send the document to the direct team lead or parent team lead. They can also decide what happens to the approval if there’s no team lead or if there are multiple team leads.

**How:** From the Admin menu, select **Approvals**, and click **Settings**.

See [Set Up Statement Approval Routes](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_statements_approvals_routes.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Approval routes determine who approves statements, the number of approvers, the order of approvers, approval reminders, and team lead routing. You can define multilevel approval routes with flexible approval structures for end-of-period statement approvals and document approvals. You can also set up an automatic approval process for a default approval route to reduce manual work and avoid delays.").

## Expand the Capabilities of the Function Library

Gain more precise control over specific details of your worksheet calculations, datasheet calculations, data filters, and other formulas with new functions. The `all?()` function checks whether every record in a datasheet or filter satisfies a condition. The `team()` function returns a Team object, and the `date()` function converts different date formats to a standardized Date data type.

See:

- [all?](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_function_ref_all.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Checks whether every record in a data filter or datasheet in Salesforce Spiff satisfies one or more conditions. This function returns true when the condition is satisfied. This function is the opposite of the any? function.")
- [date](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_function_ref_date.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Converts a string into a Date data type in Salesforce Spiff. This function finds the date value for a field that isn't specifically a Date data type so that Spiff can use the date value in calculations and other functions related to dates.")
- [team](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_function_ref_team.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Returns a Team object in Salesforce Spiff and includes all fields such as the team name, leads, and effective dates. Use this function with other functions that require a reference to a Team object.")

## Create Payout Rules More Efficiently

Reuse Spiff commission calculation resources and spend less time navigating between pages. When you add a calculated field to a worksheet, easily create a payout rule from the calculation with one click.

**How:** Highlight a calculated field on a worksheet and click **Create Payout Rule** in the right panel.

See [Create a Payout Rule from a Payout Amount Field](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_payout_rule_amount_field.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create a payout rule from a datasheet or worksheet field, which automatically assigns that field as the payout amount simultaneously.").

## Manage Clutter and Preserve Historical Plans Data

Remove old plans from view but keep their data accessible. Archive plans, but don't delete them, so that you don't disrupt other components that depend on the plans. Archived plans are at the bottom of the left panel.

**How:** Right-click a plan and select **Archive**.

See [Archive a Plan in Salesforce Spiff](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.spiff_plans_archive.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Keep the Plans page and Designer up to date and clutter-free when you archive past plans. Commission plans are often rebuilt at least one time a year, causing old versions of plans to pile up. Archiving plans hides them from view, but they’re still easily accessible.").

## Create Powerful Data Filters with Speed and Confidence

Get access to quick and easy help for creating powerful data management tools in Spiff. Data filters are important resources for calculating commissions, but they can get complicated quickly. Designer now includes the option to walk through the process of creating a data filter, including nested filters or team-based filters with complex logic.

## Manage Data in Worksheets More Efficiently

Move information around in a worksheet more easily with new keyboard shortcuts and right-click menu options.
