Important

Starting in Winter ‘21, [Lightning Sync isn’t available](https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewSolution?urlname=Lightning-Sync-End-of-Sale&language=en_US) to new Salesforce customers. Use Einstein Activity Capture to sync events, contacts, and emails between your connected account and Salesforce.

If you have Lightning Sync, use the [migration tool](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.lightning_sync_move_parent.htm&type=5&language=en_US) to move to [Einstein Activity Capture](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=einstein_sales_aac.htm&language=en_US) before Lightning Sync retires in 2027. Before you migrate, review [Compare Einstein Activity Capture and Lightning Sync](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.email_integration_admin_eac_vs_lightning_sync.htm&language=en_US) to understand what to expect when you migrate.

If your org is exempt from migration because of a licensing issue or if your org doesn’t support Einstein Activity Capture, you won’t see the migration tool in Lightning Sync.

              emails.</p>
            <p>Reps can also add Outlook events, repeating events, and their
              attachments to Salesforce records. Repeating events are added to Salesforce as
              recurring events (which can be viewed from Lightning Experience and the Salesforce
              app, but edited in Salesforce Classic only).</p>
            <p>When subsequent activity occurs
              for manually added emails and events in Outlook, corresponding updates aren’t made

              updated event to Salesforce again.</p>
            <p style="margin-bottom:0;">If you turned on <a href="https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.activities_enable_shared_activities.htm&amp;release=264.0.0&amp;type=5" title="With shared activities, users can relate up to 50 contacts (but only 1 lead) to an event or a task.">shared
                activities</a>, reps can manually add Outlook emails to multiple Salesforce
              records. Although this feature offers logging flexibility, it adds multiple versions
              of the same email in Salesforce, which can impact reporting. Shared activities also
              let reps manually add Outlook events to multiple contacts and to one other nonperson
              record, such as an opportunity or a case.</p>
          </td>

          <td data-label="Outlook Integration + Einstein&nbsp;Activity&nbsp;Capture" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d135914e162 ">

            <p>With the Outlook integration,
              reps can manually add Outlook emails and their attachments to Salesforce records.
              This feature is called logging. If Enhanced Email is enabled, Outlook emails are
              logged as Salesforce emails and as tasks. When disabled, Outlook emails are logged
              as Salesforce tasks only. With Enhanced Email, reps can also add Outlook emails to
              multiple Salesforce contacts, leads, or person accounts, or to one other nonperson
              record, such as an opportunity or case.</p>
            <p>Reps can also manually log
              non-repeating events and their attachments to one Salesforce person record and one
              nonperson record. When subsequent activity occurs for manually added events in
              Outlook, corresponding updates aren’t made in Salesforce.</p>
            <p style="margin-bottom:0;">With Einstein
              Activity Capture, email and event capture automatically displays Outlook emails and
              events on the activity timeline of related Salesforce records. When subsequent
              activity occurs, the new activity is automatically displayed on the activity
              timeline. However, captured emails and events don’t generate new records in
              Salesforce.</p>

            <p style="margin-bottom:0;">Or, with the Outlook integration, for behavior similar to manual
