# Change the Default Time Delay for Showing In-App Guidance

By default, a 24-hour delay applies to all prompts and walkthroughs, including in-app guidance that Salesforce provides, so that a user sees only one prompt or walkthrough per day per app. To change the default time delay for showing a prompt or walkthrough again after a user dismissed it, specify a custom value from the In-App Guidance page in Setup.

Note For a prompt in Lightning Experience, if a prompt’s location is set to one of the Any App options, it counts for the user’s delay for that app. See [Considerations for Creating In-App Guidance](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.customhelp_lex_prompt_consider.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before creating prompts and walkthroughs, review the options available in the In-App Guidance Builder and In-App Guidance Settings window that determine the behavior of the prompts and walkthroughs you create.").

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter In-App Guidance, and then select **In-App Guidance**.
2. Click **Settings**.
3. For the Delay Between In-App Guidance option, select **Custom**.
4. For Hours, enter a value from 0 to 99.
5. For Minutes, enter a value from 0 and 59.
6. Save your changes.
