# Render HTML Tags in Outlook

You can use HTML tags in Lightning email templates and in templates created with Email Template Builder. Make sure that the content you add appears correctly in emails viewed in Outlook.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Essentials</strong>, <strong>Professional</strong>, <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Performance</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience for email templates created in Email Template Builder and Email Content Builder</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Professional</strong>, <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, <strong>Performance</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Account Engagement Lightning App for all Account Engagement editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

In Lightning email templates, you can use HTML anywhere. To use HTML, you add it in Source mode. In Email Template Builder templates, HTML components, rich text components, and custom components use HTML tags.

Don’t mix border and border-width instructions with padding, margin, and height information in `<style>` tags. Instead, combine one, two, or more components into one rich text component in a row, and set the margin to 0 in the rich text Style tab.

Important To make sure that your email looks as you intend it to in Outlook, after adding HTML, test it in an email testing tool, such as Litmus. Or try copying and pasting the HTML into a Microsoft Word document to see how the HTML appears.
