Note The Agentforce Lead Nurturing name has changed to Agentforce Engagement. The new name better describes the work the agent does to nurture existing prospects and differentiates it from the Agentforce Lead Generation agent template.

Note Agents created in Salesforce Go with the Engagement template are built with Agent Script. To make changes to these agents, use the guided setup experience in Salesforce Go. For deeper customizations, such as adding specific business rules and logic, use the Agentforce Builder found in the Agentforce Studio app. For new agents, Salesforce recommends starting with this template.

Agents created in Salesforce Go with the earlier Engagement (Legacy) template are built with modular subagents, actions, and prompt templates. For deeper customizations, these agents can be edited in the earlier version of Agentforce Builder found in Setup

The Agentforce Engagement setup process guides you through these main steps.

1. Turn on Engagement, along with the supporting features the agent uses to do its outreach work.
2. Assign permissions so managers and sales reps can work with the agent. These permissions let managers configure the Engagement agent and let sales reps assign prospects to the agent.
3. Create a user record for your agent. This user record and its permissions let your agent operate as a user in your organization. The agent user has a special Einstein Agent license that lets it work autonomously. Agentforce assigns user permissions, sets up Einstein Activity Capture, and connects an email account so the agent can do its work. Note that Agentforce Engagement requires user-level authentication for EAC rather than org-level authentication.
4. Configure data for your agent. These are files you can upload to give the agent specific information about your business, products, and services. The agent uses these to generate high-quality introductory email and answers to prospect questions.
5. Configure and activate your agent. Set options for how your Engagement agent behaves when it's active.
6. To let sales users see the agent's emails in the Activity Timeline of prospects, ensure that each user has connected their email address to Einstein Activity Capture in their user profile.

- **[Turn On Agentforce Engagement](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_agent_sdr_setup_enable_sdr.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Agentforce Engagement performs sales outreach tasks automatically in your organization. The first part of setting it up is to turn it on and enabling several supporting features it uses to do its work. Agentforce turns on the additional features automatically.
- **[Assign User Permissions for Agentforce Engagement](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_agent_sdr_setup_sales_user_perms.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To configure and use Agentforce Engagement, sales users and administrators need specific permissions. Agentforce Setup lets you assign them quickly.
- **[Manage Your Agent’s User Record and Email](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_agent_sdr_setup_create_agent_user_parent.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
An Agentforce Engagement agent operates like a regular user in your organization, but with special permissions. Engagement setup makes it easy to choose or create a user record. Agentforce then assigns it permissions, and sets up Einstein Activity Capture and email for it.
- **[Configure Data for Your Engagement Agent](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_agent_sdr_setup_data_cloud.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To manage the data your agent uses to answer questions and complete tasks, select or create a data library in Agentforce Data Library Setup.
- **[Build Your Engagement Agent](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_agent_sdr_setup_agent_builder.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Configure the details of your Engagement agent based on when and how often you want the agent to perform outreach, language and tone, and when to assign prospects to the agent automatically. Then to start working prospects, activate your agent.
- **[Connect User Email Accounts to Einstein Activity Capture](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_agent_sdr_setup_connect_user_email_to_eac.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Users can see the agent’s emails on the Activity Timeline of lead, contact, and person account records. To let sales users view, edit, reschedule, or cancel Engagement agent emails on the Activity Timeline of prospect records, be sure each user has connected their email account in their user profile. Connecting the user email account to EAC lets agent emails include meeting booking links for prospect owners. You make changes to agent emails in the Email Composer.
- **[Use a Flow to Queue Specific Agent Emails for Manual Review (Optional)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_agent_sdr_rbs_flow_example.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To queue agent emails for manual review according to a custom set of criteria, build a flow that the agent can use to know which emails to queue. For example, you could choose to review only emails to leads in a certain geography such as Seattle, Washington USA, or industry such as Financial Services for review.
