Note We’re reorganizing the Einstein Activity Capture documentation. We’re moving some information around, but we aren’t deleting anything.

Sales Engagement (Premium) licenses provide access to Einstein Activity Capture permission sets. The Sales Engagement Basic User permission set doesn’t provide access to Einstein Activity Capture.

There are two permission sets for Einstein Activity Capture. Einstein Activity Capture Standard is available for 100 users. To grant access to more users, use the Standard Einstein Activity Capture (Additional User) permission set.

Important The Standard Einstein Activity Capture permission set is for users who don’t have a Sales Cloud Einstein, Inbox, or Sales Engagement license. Einstein Activity Capture Standard isn’t available for Salesforce Government Cloud customers.

1. From Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find. Then, select **Permission Sets**.
2. Click the Standard Einstein Activity Capture permission set.
3. Click **Manage Assignments** and assign the permission set to users.

Assigning the permission set is only part of giving users access. To connect their email and calendar accounts, users who don’t use Inbox must also be added to an active Einstein Activity Capture configuration. To add users to a configuration, see [Define Which Data to Capture Through an Einstein Activity Capture Configuration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.aac_setup_create_configuration.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configurations determine which data gets captured and how it flows between Salesforce and your connected account. You create one configuration during the initial setup and you can add more to customize data capture and sync behavior for specific users or profiles. By default, Einstein Activity Capture syncs events and contacts bi-directionally, though you can edit these settings at any time.")
