# Create Data Detect Policies More Easily with a Guided Flow

Create and edit Data Detect policies in one guided flow where you enter policy details, select objects, and define scan criteria. Select individual objects with one click or select objects in bulk, and see how filters affect the object list and field counts on the same screen. You no longer have to create the policy before adding objects and defining scan criteria in separate tasks.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions with the Salesforce Shield or Data Detect licenses.

**How:** In Data Detect, open the **Policies** tab and click **New Policy**. Follow the guided flow to enter policy details, select objects, and define scan criteria. Review your selections and save the policy.
