# Data Detect

Create Data Detect policies in one guided flow where you select objects and define scan criteria. Scan Salesforce data and Data 360 data lake objects (DLOs) to discover sensitive data across your organization.

- **[Scan Data 360 for Sensitive Data with Data Detect](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_security_dd_data360.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Protect sensitive information across your data platform with Data Detect scanning for Data 360. Data Detect helps you identify sensitive data in large batches across Data Lake Objects (DLOs), automatically targeting all text fields when you select a DLO. A single scan policy supports up to 100 DLOs across multiple data spaces, giving you a consolidated view of sensitive data exposure. Data Detect usage with Data 360 consumes credits in the Data Queries usage type. You can resume Data 360 scans after they've stopped.
- **[Create Data Detect Policies More Easily with a Guided Flow](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_security_dd_new_policy_flow.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create and edit Data Detect policies in one guided flow where you enter policy details, select objects, and define scan criteria. Select individual objects with one click or select objects in bulk, and see how filters affect the object list and field counts on the same screen. You no longer have to create the policy before adding objects and defining scan criteria in separate tasks.
- **[Resume Paused Data Scans](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_security_dd_resume_scan.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Pick up where you left off by resuming scans that stopped, skipped, timed out, or completed with errors to finish scanning records that weren’t scanned yet. Resumed scans use the settings from the initial run even if your policy configurations changed.
