# Create, Compare, and Manage Scratch Orgs with AI Skills

Use AI Skills to manage your scratch orgs directly from your AI coding client. AI Skills are packaged instruction sets that give AI coding clients specialized knowledge for building on the Salesforce platform. When you describe what you want in natural language, five skills help you create and manage scratch orgs, org shapes, and scratch org snapshots, compare orgs for drift, and track org expiration.

**Where:** This change applies to scratch orgs, which are available in Developer, Enterprise, Group, and Professional editions.

**Why:** Five AI Skills are available for scratch orgs:

- [dx-org-analyze](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/main/skills/dx-org-analyze): Compare two Salesforce orgs and generate a drift report covering metadata components, org permissions, system permissions, profiles, installed packages, licenses, and org limits. Analyze a single org and generate an inventory report covering its metadata, installed packages, org settings, org limits, licenses, system permissions, and deep data (flows and named credentials).
- [dx-org-manage](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/main/skills/dx-org-manage): Create a scratch org from a scratch org definition file, an org snapshot, an org shape, or with just the edition defined. Also list, display, resume, open, and delete scratch orgs.
- [dx-org-shape-manage](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/main/skills/dx-org-shape-manage): Create a shape from a source org, list your org shapes, and delete an org shape.
- [dx-org-snapshot-manage](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/main/skills/dx-org-snapshot-manage): Create a scratch org snapshot, check its status, list your snapshots, and delete a snapshot.
- [dx-org-trial-expiration-check](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/main/skills/dx-org-trial-expiration-check): Check when trial orgs, Developer Edition orgs, or scratch orgs expire, or whether they've already expired. Generate structured output (JSON or CSV) to create alerts or cron jobs for orgs that are about to expire, get guidance on backing up an org before it expires, and learn how to extend a trial.

**How:** AI Skills are available from the [forcedotcom/sf-skills repository](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills) on GitHub. Add the skills to your AI coding client, and then describe your task in natural language. For example, to create a scratch org, write a request like “Create a Developer Edition scratch org with the alias ExampleScratchOrg.”
