Use AI Skills to manage your sandboxes directly from your AI coding client. AI Skills are packaged instruction sets that give AI coding clients specialized knowledge for building on the Salesforce platform. When you describe what you want in natural language, three skills help you create, refresh, and activate sandboxes, and generate and apply post-copy configuration files.
Where: This change applies to Salesforce sandboxes, which are available in Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Database.com editions.
Why: Three AI Skills are available for sandboxes:
- platform-sandbox-configure: List all sandboxes, get the details for a specific sandbox by name or ID, and create a sandbox. Refresh an existing sandbox with the latest production metadata and data, activate a sandbox after a refresh completes, discard a completed refresh, and verify whether an activation or deletion is complete. Check how many licenses are available or used by license type.
- automation-sandbox-post-copy-config-generate: Generate a sandbox configuration JSON file from a document that describes your organization’s settings for a newly created or refreshed sandbox. The settings in scope are the outbound messages to external endpoints and the remote site settings.
- automation-sandbox-post-copy-configure: Apply the configuration JSON file created with the automation-sandbox-post-copy-config-generate skill to a newly created or refreshed sandbox.
How: AI Skills are available from the forcedotcom/sf-skills repository on GitHub. Add the skills to your AI coding client, and then describe your task in natural language. For example, to check a sandbox, write a request like “What's the status of ExampleSandbox?”
