# Simplify Communications with Generic Events

Use a generic event in flows to create outbound engagement templates for basic sending use cases. Send messages from a list view, such as a thank-you message when a member redeems a reward, without defining complex, event-specific types.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Outbound Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next.

**How:** When you create an automation event-triggered flow, in the Start node, click **Select Event.** From the Event Library, select Outbound Engagement Content List Send Event that triggers the flow.
