# Import a Data Extension into a Marketing Object

Copy a data extension's columns, data types, primary keys, and records from Marketing Cloud Engagement into a Marketing Object in one step. The data extension import is a one-time copy of available data. That is, if you add data to the data extension, those changes don’t appear in the marketing object, and vice versa.

**Where:** This change applies to Salesforce Enterprise and Unlimited editions with any Marketing Cloud Engagement+ edition and the Salesforce Foundations add-on.

**Who:** To create Marketing Objects, users need the Manage Marketing Objects permission.
