# Protect Against Phishing by Using Platform Authentication Systems

Strengthen security by using platform-based authentication systems, including Touch ID and Face ID on Apple devices, Windows Hello, or passkeys, to log in to Marketing Cloud Engagement. Platform authentication methods are considered phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (PR-MFA) systems. Marketing Cloud Engagement also supports other PR-MFA systems, such as authentication with hardware-based devices such as Yubikey.

**Where:** This change applies to all Marketing Cloud Engagement editions.

**When:** Support for platform-based authentication methods became available on July 30, 2026.

In a future release, all Marketing Cloud Engagement accounts will be required to use MFA with either a platform authentication system or a hardware authentication device (support for hardware-based authentication became available in Summer ’20).
