# Refresh State Manager Data

Call the refresh() action on a built-in state manager to fetch the latest data from the server. Use refresh() to update state managers that expose list- or query-shaped data, such as related list records, without reconfiguring the state manager or reloading the page.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in all editions.

**How:** Call `refresh()` on a state manager instance when its `status` is `loaded`. The action returns a `Promise<void>` that resolves after the state manager's `data` property contains the refreshed data. For more information, see [Refresh Action](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/lwc/guide/reference-state-managers-use.html#refresh-action) in the Lightning Web Components Developer Guide.
