# Digital Verification Setup Is Changed for Internal and Portal Users

Manage electronic signatures in Salesforce more efficiently by using Digital Verification. Previously, you had to configure a connected app for internal users. Starting in Winter '27, you don't need to configure a connected app or external client app for internal users. For portal users, you can now configure an external client app for Digital Verification.

**Where:** This feature is available in Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited editions with the Life Sciences Advanced Therapy Management Add-On license.

**How:** From Setup, configure an external client app with the required OAuth settings. Then create an auth provider linked to it by using the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret, and create a named credential linked to the auth provider. Make sure that the community site is published and configured for headless login, and add the community site domain to Remote Site Settings.
