Go beyond page views to gain deeper visibility into how healthcare professionals (HCPs) engage with your presentation content. Use the trackInteraction function in your HTML slides to track specific interactions within each presentation page, such as button taps, link clicks, and video plays. Life Sciences Customer Engagement captures the account and visit details with each interaction so that you can report on presentation effectiveness and refine your content strategy.
Where: This feature is available in:
- Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited editions with the Life Sciences Cloud license and the Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement add-on license, and where the Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement managed package is installed.
- Life Sciences Cloud mobile app for iOS (iPad only).
When: This feature is available starting the week of October 5, 2026.
How: In your HTML presentation content, call
PresentationPlayer.trackInteraction() with an optional JSON payload
to record interaction data. This example function tracks a video play event with a
standard field and custom fields that a Salesforce admin added on the presentation click
stream entry object.
<script type="text/javascript">
function onVideoPlay() {
PresentationPlayer.trackInteraction({
"UsageEndDateTime": "2026-06-19T11:56:12.779Z",
event_type__c: "video_play",
event_id__c: "patient_case_video",
event_description__c: "Patient case video started"
});
}
</script>
