# Optimize Storage with Just-in-Time Member Currency Record Creation

Create member currency records only when members first engage with the program by earning or spending points. Instead of creating a record at enrollment, Loyalty Management creates it on the first credit transaction. If you turn on negative point balances and member currency records don’t exist, Loyalty Management creates a record on the first debit transaction. This approach reduces storage consumption and improves database performance without affecting member functionality.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Loyalty Management.

**How:** In Setup, find and select **Loyalty Management Settings**. Turn on **On-Demand Member Currency Creation**.
