Platform Licensing and Digital Wallet

Platform licensing and provisioning automatically activates your org's purchased Salesforce products and features. You can then manage user access to these products and features by assigning Platform user licenses and permission set licenses. Digital Wallet tracks usage for consumption-based features, licenses, and capacity allowances all in one place. Unlock historical usage patterns and actionable insights that help you optimize investments and proactively manage operational costs.

  • Protect Custom Object Access with Unified Employee License Restrictions
The Unified Employee license doesn't support access to custom objects, unless the objects are part of a security-reviewed managed package from AppExchange. This restriction protects sensitive custom object data from being exposed to broader access than the license is designed for. As a result, you can't assign profiles, permission sets, or permission set groups that include restricted custom objects to Unified Employee licensed users. Also, you can't add restricted custom objects to profiles, permission sets, or permission set groups currently assigned to those users.
  • Defer Sharing Calculations for Bulk Unified Employee License Updates
Before you run a bulk user creation for the Unified Employee License, defer sharing calculations to avoid performance issues or failures. Also defer sharing calculations before you update sharing rules that impact the All Restricted Employee User group. Updates can then be completed before Salesforce recalculates sharing access for every affected record.
  • Access the Chatter Profile Page to Designate Employee Users
From the User details page, access the Chatter profile page to designate employee users. The User Profile button gives you direct access when a network-only user has the Unified Employee license. This button also provides direct access when a user has the Salesforce Platform user license and Chatter is turned off.
  • Unblock Connected App OAuth Installations in Pre-2018 Developer Orgs
Your users can now install connected apps in Developer edition orgs created before 2018 by using the OAuth flow. The system automatically adds the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps user permission to the org, which you then assign to users, to enable the installation. Previously, the OAuth flow blocked this installation in these legacy orgs.
