# Build the Embedding Bridge Without a Salesforce Package

Communicate with the Salesforce host directly over the sf-embedding protocol in plain JavaScript, with no dependency on a Salesforce package.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience, Experience Cloud LWR and Aura sites, and the Salesforce mobile app in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Partner Developer editions hosted on Hyperforce where English is the default language.

**When:** This feature is available starting September 14, 2026.

**Who:** This change is for developers who build embedded apps and who want full control of the communication layer.

**Why:** Talk to the Salesforce host without adding a package dependency to your app, which is useful when you want to manage the communication layer yourself.

**How:** Instead of importing a Salesforce package, implement the `sf-embedding` protocol in your app to send and receive messages with the host. You handle the embedding lifecycle, data exchange, and events directly over the protocol.
