# Embed External Web Apps with Salesforce Microfrontend (UI Embedding) (Generally Available)

Embed an external web app directly in a Salesforce page instead of sending users to a separate tab or window. Salesforce hosts your app in a secure, sandboxed iframe with the lightning-ui-embedding base component and exchanges data, styling, and events over a supported protocol. This feature is now generally available.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience, Experience Cloud LWR and Aura sites, and the Salesforce mobile app in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Partner Developer editions hosted on Hyperforce where English is the default language.

**When:** This feature is available starting September 14, 2026.

**Who:** This change is for developers who build and host their own web apps and who can create Lightning web components and edit Lightning pages or Experience Cloud sites.

**Why:** Reuse an app that you already built and host, without rewriting it as a Lightning web component. The embedded app runs in a sandboxed iframe and communicates with Salesforce over a versioned protocol, so it can read UI state, match the Salesforce theme, resize to fit its content, warn users about unsaved changes, and stay accessible.

**How:** From Setup, add your app's origin to your Trusted URLs for inline frames. Create a Lightning web component that renders `lightning-ui-embedding` and set the required `src` attribute to your app's URL. Then add the component to a Lightning page or Experience Cloud site. Your app can connect with or without the Salesforce platform SDK.
