  • Get the Latest LWC Changes with LWC API Version 68.0
Update the API version for your components to use new features and improvements. Versioning your Lightning web components ensures that your existing components aren’t affected when Salesforce ships new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements that change existing behavior. Versioning also helps Salesforce deprecate legacy features.
  • Use Programmatic Anchor Clicks for Same-Origin URLs
In version Spring '27 and later, when Lightning Web Security (LWS) is enabled, opening the same-origin Salesforce URLs in a new tab via window.open(url), or with '_blank' throws a LockerSecurityError. Replace these calls with a detached programmatic anchor click to safely handle same-origin navigation and downloads.
  • Control Navigation Items in Lightning Console Apps
The lightning/platformNavigationItemApi module provides methods to manage navigation items in the item menu of a Lightning console app.
  • Use Third-Party Web Components in LWC (Generally Available)
You can integrate third-party web components into your Lightning Web Components (LWC) apps without rewriting them. To render them as native web components in LWC templates, use lwc:external. This feature is now generally available, with no changes since the last beta release.
  • AI Tags for LWCs and Aura Components Are No Longer Supported
Starting in Winter '27, the platform throws an error if you add an <ai> tag to Lightning web component configuration files or the equivalent <design:ai> tag to Aura component design bundles. Components that included these tags before the Winter '27 release continue to work as expected. Previously, you could implement these tags to add AI descriptions for custom components.
  • Refresh State Manager Data
Call the refresh() action on a built-in state manager to fetch the latest data from the server. Use refresh() to update state managers that expose list- or query-shaped data, such as related list records, without reconfiguring the state manager or reloading the page.
  • Accelerate Lightning Development with LWC Skills
Agentforce Vibes now includes skills that provide guidance across the entire LWC lifecycle, covering accessibility, data, design, development, documentation, migration, testing, security, and quality review. Each skill is automatically applied when your task matches, so you can generate LWC code quickly based on the latest best practices.
  • Salesforce Microfrontend (UI Embedding)
With Salesforce Microfrontend (UI Embedding), embed your existing web apps directly in a Salesforce page and exchange data, styling, and events over a secure channel.
