Speed Fulfillment with AI Sourcing Recommendations

An AI agent evaluates hardware requests and recommends the optimal fulfillment path based on inventory availability and logistics. The Sourcing Agent checks local inventory first, then internal transfers from other locations. Review and accept recommendations in Guided Fulfillment mode, or turn on autonomous mode so the agent creates fulfillment orders automatically.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with the IT Service add-on.

Who: To configure autonomous sourcing, you need the Manage Inventory, Customize Application, and Manage Agents permissions.

Why: Manual sourcing decisions slow fulfillment when multiple inventory locations are available. When IT Fulfillers review inventory across stockrooms manually, it increases operational overhead and delays request processing. The Sourcing Agent applies a consistent sourcing logic, evaluating requests by strict priority: local inventory nearest to the requester, then internal transfers from other locations calculated by geocode proximity. In Guided Fulfillment mode, access the agent in the Agentforce panel within Salesforce, Slack, or Microsoft Teams to review recommendations and confirm shipments and transfers manually. Fulfillers can also customize the underlying autolaunch flow to enforce custom cross-border logic if needed. In autonomous mode, the agent creates fulfillment orders automatically for requests that meet configured criteria. Connection failures or reservation errors appear directly in the Proactive Assistance interface.

How: To turn on autonomous sourcing, turn on Hardware Asset Management, enable Generative AI, and turn on the sourcing agent preference in Setup.
