# Renew Member Policies for the Next Contract Term

Renew eligible member policies for the next contract term when a renewed contract is available and the renewal enrollment window opens. Update the member roster and benefit plan elections through the renewal census, and then create new policies for eligible members and their dependents in a single bulk operation instead of renewing each policy individually. Each renewed policy links to its predecessor, where applicable, to preserve renewal history and ensure a consistent transition to the renewed contract.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited editions with Digital Insurance.

**How:** Create a renewed contract for the next coverage period, then create a Renewal group census. Upload the census and click **Renew Policies**. Alternatively, use the Group Renewal API to renew eligible member policies asynchronously.
