# Speed Up Contract Midterm Adjustments and Renewals by Generating a Baseline Census

When your reps and your clients’ HR admins prepare to update contract terms or member details, they can start with a shared census built from an existing group insurance contract. The census includes demographic details for members and dependents, along with employee classes and plan selections drawn from policies active on a selected change date. HR admins check the census and provide roster or member updates, and your reps use the updated census to prepare renewal or endorsement quotes. With this common starting point, both teams can turn sooner to the changes that matter and spend less time reentering and reconciling census data.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited editions with Digital Insurance.

**How**: Use the Generate Census API or set up a screen flow that invokes the Generate Census invocable action. Census generation runs asynchronously.
