# Calculate Group Taxes and Fees to Meet Regulatory and Operational Costs

Capture tax and fee surcharges at the coverage, member, or policy line item instead of rolling them into a premium calculation. Define each surcharge as a flat amount, percentage, or expression set, and set the sequence, proration, and refund behavior. Apply up to five taxes and five fees per quote line item. Before a policy operation, view the breakdown in Group Census Member Plan Surcharge. After the operation succeeds, view the breakdown in Insurance Policy Surcharge. Rating excludes class-level surcharges.
