Whether it’s for your own org or you’re a consulting partner or ISV, now you can package, distribute, and install Multi-Framework apps using second-generation packaging (2GP). Choose unlocked packages for apps that you want to keep editable, or use managed packages to distribute locked, namespaced internal apps through AppExchange.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Partner Developer editions hosted on Hyperforce.
When: This change is available starting in September 2026.
Why: Both package types support apps that are built with React or Angular. Unlocked packages support both internal- and external-facing apps. Managed packages support only internal-facing apps.
