description: Create more flexible discount strategies while controlling how promotions combine on the same cart. Organize promotions into custom subgroups and assign First Promotion, Highest Discount, or Stacked Evaluation to each subgroup, helping prevent unintended discounts while supporting more compelling offers. Previously, promotions in the same category, such as all line-level promotions, had to share one evaluation method. Now, you can create subgroups within that category so some promotions are applied based on the best discount while others stack.

# Control How Promotions Stack by Using Custom Evaluation Groups

Create more flexible discount strategies while controlling how promotions combine on the same cart.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited and Developer editions where Global Promotions Management is enabled.
