# Validate Coupon Codes Before Customers Apply Them

Improve the checkout experience for promotions with multiple coupons by supporting manually entered coupon codes. Automatically check whether a customer's inputted code is valid and applicable to their current cart before applying the discount. The new Coupon Validation API quickly evaluates coupon existence, active date ranges, redemption limits, and cart-level eligibility.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Global Promotions Management.
