# Show Only Applicable Work Step Actions

Turn off the Not Applicable action so your technicians see only the Work Step actions their process uses. When your business process recognizes only completed and not-started work, the Not Applicable action is clutter that technicians can select by mistake—sometimes breaking downstream automation. Now you can hide the action from the Work Step action menu in the Field Service mobile app with a single setting.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions, and to the Field Service mobile app for Android and iOS.

**Who:** To change the setting, you need the Customize Application permission.

**Why:** For high-volume work plans, a single wrong tap can break a downstream billing or automation trigger. Hiding the action removes that failure mode without changing your data or your reports.

**How:** In Setup, go to **Work Plans** and select **Hide the Not Applicable option on Work Steps**. The setting is off by default, so your technicians see no change until you enable it. After you save, the change reaches mobile devices on the next sync—technicians don't need to log out and back in—and the action stays correctly hidden even when they work offline. Not Applicable remains a valid Work Step status that you can still set through record edits, the API, Apex, flows, and data import.
