Set field visibility for guest users without affecting your settings for other external users. Turn on Independent Guest Field Masking to hide certain fields specifically from guest users. This update adds a new Guest_PersonalInfo_EPIM field set so that you can secure guest-facing fields without changing what portal users see.
Where: This change applies to Aura, LWR, and Visualforce sites accessed through Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
When: Salesforce enforces this update in Spring ’27. To get the major release upgrade date for your instance, go to Trust Status, search for your My Domain name or instance, and click the maintenance tab.
Why: With this update, the personally identifiable information (PII) that unauthenticated external users (guest users) see is governed by the new Guest_PersonalInfo_EPIM field set instead of the shared PersonalInfo_EPIM field set. Guest masking is decoupled from portal-user masking so that you can choose exactly which user fields are concealed from different types of external users.
Authenticated external users (portal users) remain governed by the PersonalInfo_EPIM field set.
Guest users typically require fewer user fields than authenticated portal users. With a dedicated guest user field set, you can conceal more PII from guests while the portal-user experience remains unchanged.
How: To review this update, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Release Updates, and then select Release Updates. For Conceal Personal Information Fields from Guest Users, follow the testing and activation steps.
