# Format Prompt Instructions with Text Styling in Prompt Builder

The Block Editor now supports rich text formatting in generative AI prompt templates. Headings, lists, bold, italic, underline, and dividers are preserved through save, **Preview**, and generative AI at run time.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with Einstein for Platform, or Einstein or Agentforce for Sales or Service add-on, or Agentforce Foundations.

**When:** This change is available in Salesforce orgs upgraded to Winter ’27 starting the week of October 12, 2026. Go to [trust.salesforce.com](http://trust.salesforce.com) for exact dates.

**Why:** Structured, styled prompt instructions are easier to scan and maintain as templates grow more complex.

**How:** From Prompt Builder, create a prompt template or convert an existing template from the Classic Editor to the Block Editor. Then, format your prompt instructions.

- Type #, ##, or ### at the start of a block to convert it to a **Big**, **Medium**, or **Small** heading.
- Select text and use the toolbar, or press **Ctrl+B**, **Ctrl+I**, or **Ctrl+U** (Windows) or **Command+B**, **Command+I**, or **Command+U** (macOS), to apply bold, italic, or underline. Markdown syntax also works as you type: \*\*bold\*\*, \*italic\*, and \_\_underline\_\_.
- Type \- at the start of a block to create a bulleted list. Numbered lists are also supported.
- Type \--- to insert a horizontal divider between sections.
- Pasted Markdown, RTF, or HTML text keeps its formatting when you paste it into the canvas.
