You can now control conversational memory for all AI agents and users across your org with a single setting. When you turn off conversational memory, agents stop creating memories and using existing ones, even if individual agents have memory enabled. Existing memories are preserved but aren't used while the setting is off. The Memory & Preferences icon also disappears from the Agentforce panel. Previously, you turned conversational memory on or off only for individual agents in Agent Script.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Foundations or Agentforce 1 editions. Setup for AI agents is available on the desktop site.
When: This change is available in Salesforce orgs upgraded to Winter ’27 starting the week of October 19, 2026. Go to trust.salesforce.com for exact dates.
How: Conversational memory is enabled by default, so you don't need to take any action to keep it available. To turn it off for your org, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Einstein Generative AI, and then select Einstein Audit, Analytics, and Monitoring Setup. Turn off Enable Conversational Memory for Agentforce.
