# Roll Up Only the Lowest-Tier Values in Hierarchy Nodes

Choose whether a parent record's value counts toward its hierarchical rollup total in on-demand definitions. Exclude parent record values so that an aggregate field rolls up only the lowest-tier values from records with no children. Use this option when only the lowest-level records carry the values you want to combine across varying hierarchy depths. Previously, a hierarchical aggregate always included every record's own value.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Data Processing Engine and Data Processing Engine On Demand are available.

**Who:** To use this feature, you need the Run Data Processing Engine Definitions On Demand permission set.

**How:** In the Data Processing Engine builder, open an on-demand definition and add a Hierarchy node. For each aggregate field where you want to exclude the parent's value, select **Include only the lowest-tier values**.
