# Developer Console

In Winter '27, The Developer Console option is not visible by default in Setup.

Important Developer Console is in maintenance mode and no new features are being added. Only security bugs of high severity are addressed.

To enable the Developer Console option in Setup, navigate to Setup, enter `Development` in the **Quick Find** box, and select **Web Console**. Switch the **Enable Developer Console** setting to Active. If Web Console is set to Inactive, Developer Console activates by default to restore standard setup buttons. If both environments are set to Active, both options remain available from the Setup menu. Refer to [Enable Web Console](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/webconsole/guide/enable-ide.html) for details.

**Note:** While Web Console offers enhanced functionality and an improved user experience, you can re-enable the legacy Developer Console at any time. If your workflow requires reverting to Developer Console, let us know why and submit your feedback through the [Web Console Feedback Repository](https://github.com/forcedotcom/web-console-feedback/issues) to help inform future platform improvements.
