# Provide Clear Feedback on Cart Operations with Transient Messages

Receive immediate, custom feedback when your sales reps update quote line items in the Enterprise Sales Management cart. Clear warning, error, and success messages explain why an operation succeeded or violated a business rule. If cardinality, attribute, validation, or pricing errors occur, reps can view the custom error details and continue updating the cart, but they can't submit the cart until they resolve all errors, keeping workflows clean, focused, and accurate.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Enterprise Sales Management.

**How:** Configure pre-hooks to validate requests and block errors, or configure post-hooks to enrich payloads. Use these hooks to populate the `messages` array in the `multiEditCartItems` API response with validation errors, success messages, or custom warnings.
